PROFILE OF Dr. ASHOK KR. GADIYA

An eminent professional, educationist and nationalist, CA (Dr) Ashok Kumar Gadiya has occupied a prominent stature in society through his exemplary achievements and contribution. His rise to prominence in such a short span can be attributed to his strong will power, calibre, conviction, dedication and leadership quality.

Born on 1st January 1960, Dr. Gadiya comes from a humble background. Son of Sh. Nand Lal Gadiya of Bansi, a village in District Chittorgarh, he nurtures a sense of pride in his roots that is etched in the great tradition and glorious history of Mewar. He started his life in a very remote area and gradually rose to become one of the pioneering educationists of Rajasthan. He has established many educational Institutions in Chittorgarh, Delhi NCR and Ghaziabad to spread education among the young generation, belonging to rural areas, and more specifically, to under-privileged classes of society. He strongly believes that the young generation is truly sincere, dedicated and keen to adopt new practices of learning. They can enter any challenging arena and achieve success if they receive focused attention, inspiring atmosphere and a bit of extra care.

Dr. Gadiya has made a distinct contribution to modernizing and revitalizing the existing education system that had lost its vigour and has eroded over time. Dr. Gadiya`s name deserves to feature at the top for reinvigorating our education system as well as for offering modern but value-based education to the young generation.

He is of the view that in order to educate the young generation in the present scenario, the knowledge base of the education providers (teachers) should also be regularly updated and they need to be continuously trained and motivated. He feels convinced that only then there is a possibility to convert the young generation into responsible, confident and self-reliant youth of the country.

Keeping this in view, he has developed a new mechanism to train the teachers in his institutions on a regular basis. His idea is that teachers should become the mentors for their students as was the practice in our ancient culture. Mentors refer to such personalities who stand apart from the rest by virtue of their deeds and achievements, so that students get morally and mentally uplifted by their contacts with their mentors and by a glimpse at their stature. However, mentors not only leave their lasting footprints on the making of a society but also and more importantly, inspire others to follow in their footsteps and attain bigger goals for the common wellbeing of mankind. Therefore, he has developed counselling/mentoring system in his Educational Institutions.
From time to time, many eminent Indians from all walks of life have demonstrated their noble influence on the society. Dr. Gadiya, as the Founder of Mewar University, which has emerged as a unique seat of learning and higher education in a very short span of time, is also an embodiment of such contribution. The University set up in Chittorgarh of Rajasthan has been able to achieve its avowed purpose of making higher and technical education accessible to the weaker and deprived sections of our society in a short period of its existence.
The most significant aspect is out of this 11000 students 75% are from SC/ST/OBC and Minority community and further out of the 75% almost 90% students hail from remote areas and poor families. Students from 29 states of the country besides 20 different countries are now enrolled in different courses and this diversity and spread are continuously being expanded. Mewar University has gradually been transformed as an International seat of learning where students from nook and corner of the country as well as from different countries of the world are joining for higher education. The mission for Dr. Gadiya is that children even from extremely poor families as well as those from remote villages receive the boon of higher education in his University so as to grow up as ideal citizen and enter the society with a dedication to serve the nation. His cherished desire is that the students coming out of the university are empowered with self confidence, patriotism, sensitivity to the society, high esteem for the great personalities of the country as well as inspired by the ideals of the nation builders. His objective is to prepare the youth with such lofty ideals. He has been busy round the clock with this sacred mission. It will be appropriate to mention about his endeavour relating to Jammu-Kashmir, Since 2012-13 Dr. Gadiya is working in J&K with mission to serve poorest of the poor students from J&K and that too from remote & border area He Personally visited the most remote & Terrorist affected area of J&K. Organized career counseling camps in these area and brought the poor Boys and Girls from that area, educated them in Mewar University Given them best training and placement and brought them in the national men stream till Date more than 3000 J&K Students from poorest of the poor, Section of society got educated in Mewar University without any fee (Free of cost) these students are either in employment or doing their own Business. The student represents all most all district of J&K for educating such large no of students free of cost. He has to face lots of hardship financially socially and administratively for getting the scholarship of these student’s. He has to fight Government authorities for long period. There was a time when he owed 37 Cr. Rupees as loan from Bank & Private parties which was taken to feed these students. Ultimately Government released the scholarship 50% of their tuition & Hostel fee and 50% was beard by Mr. Gadiya. Which was not less than Rs. 40 Cr. Mr. Gadiya is a true philanthropist serving with a mission to serve poor students of J&K. his efforts has been appreciated by Indian army and now Indian army is sending the poor students of J&K to Mewar University under Sadbhavna scheme where in 50% tuition fee & Hostel fee is beard by Indian army & 50% by Mewar University. Right now Mewar University have more than 650 student studding in various courses under this scheme from J&K. Bihar, Nagaland, Manipur, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh. Dr.Gadya personally visited remote areas in these state, inspired the youth from very poor households, facilitated thousands of youngsters to receive higher education in the university, imparted training to them, helped their placement in different organisation, thus successfully guiding them to join the mainstream of the society. His vision is to reach the unreached, make way for the poor youth to join higher education, educate them, train them and help them to find suitable employment and join the mainstream of the society. Dr. Gadiya has always been the vanguard of the social and value awakening movement that has exercised a tremendous impact on the minds of conscious individuals. At the very early stages of his career, he realized that national renaissance could not be achieved through the narrow gates of politics but through reformative education. That is why he kept himself away from politics and instead devoted himself to the field of education. He is a true educationist who has always been in search of new and innovative methods of teaching that would create interest in the minds of the young generation.

Dr. Gadiya always likes to discuss with the students the purpose of education, which, according to him, is not merely to pass examinations after learning a few facts and acquiring some skills, but to understand the complexity of life. He urges the students to appreciate their role in the creation of a ‘new’ world that will exist without fear, conflict or contradiction. According to him this can be achieved only if ‘right education’ is provided in an atmosphere where intelligence and virtues could be nurtured without any fear.

Dr. Gadiya has an indefatigable spirit. He is aggressive in his style of working, vigorous in pursuing his objectives and always committed to put all his energy and resources to work till the goal is achieved. He is courageous and works with utmost passion, honesty, dedication and integrity. He gives due respect to all others around him possessing similar attitude.

He is a keen lover of music, fine arts, dance drama and philosophy, and he always likes to get involved with students’ academic and cultural activities. He is truly a social reformer. He likes to promote cultural activities and performances that portray our national heritage, tradition and values and spread feeling of nationalism, cooperation, love and kindness among the people. In his journey to enrich personal wisdom, he was first inspired by his mother, who epitomized the Indian culture, tradition and values. As he entered the arena of higher education, Sh. Gunwantjee came to him like a beacon leading him to greater realization of the essence of pure life. Dr.Gadiya is also inspired by great saints of India such as Swami Vivekanand and Swami Daya Nanda Saraswati.

He works round-the-clock with determination, dedication, discipline and devotion, and to him, ‘work is worship’. A strong believer in team work, he ensures the involvement of all team members in the process of decision making. He takes up all assignments with great enthusiasm and shoulders the responsibility for the outcome of all decisions. He loves to work with the young generation so as to help them emerge as confident, responsible and selfreliant citizens of India in future.
